MEET THE TEAM
Help Me To Parent Ltd was
launched in October 2007. The two founding directors had attended a parenting course and were so
impressed with the skills they learned, they passionately believed that every parent should have
the opportunity to do a course such as this. Since establishing the company, the directors have
reviewed and researched parenting courses and literature. During this time they discussed
various aspects of parenting and parenting training with a number of professionals in the area
of mental health and child/youth development. Having reviewed a number of
parenting courses, the directors concluded that the Parents Plus Programmes
were not only the best in terms of content and presentation but also the most appropriate for
parents in Ireland today.
We were
very fortunate to have received excellent assistance, guidance and support from
Dr John Sharry. John is a family psychotherapist and
parenting author with over 20 years clinical experience in child and adolescent mental
health. Author of several books in counselling and mental health, John is also the co-developer
of the award winning Parents Plus Programmes. Johnworked
with us for the initial period of our set up. During this time he
adapted the Parents Plus programmes for
Help
Me To Parent Ltd and delivered all of our courses until he was happy with the content, pace and
quality of these. John then assisted us in finding excellent facilitators for our courses
and continues to be a trusted advisor and friend. We would like to thank John and
acknowledge the enormous value and experience that he shared with
us.
